Our distinctive ownership structure maximizes your earnings potential

At Vanguard, our independence from external owners allows us to focus solely on our clients and investors. Without the need to satisfy outside shareholders or maintain a stock price, we can minimize costs, ensuring that more of your money stays with you.

Notes: This hypothetical illustration depicts the potential impact of Vanguard's ownership structure. All other factors being equal, Vanguard's ownership structure may allow investors to keep more of their investment returns. The proportions shown do not represent any specific company's actual distribution of returns or percentage operating expenses.

We believe four simple principles can improve your chances of investment success

undefined

Think about goals

Having a goal in mind can help when it comes to picking the right investments. This could be anything from saving for retirement, to buying a home.

undefined

Stay balanced

Investing in the right mix of shares and bonds based on your risk/reward tolerance could have a bigger impact than anything else you do.

undefined

Keep costs low

Making money from investments isn’t about predicting the future, because the future is unpredictable. Instead you should focus on the one thing that you can control – costs.

undefined

Be disciplined

Sometimes our emotions can lead us to make simple mistakes when investing. The most successful investors are often those who invest for the long term and don’t tinker with their portfolios too much.
